      HENRY (DE BEAUCHAMP), EARL OF WARWICK and COUNT OF AUMALE, also hereditary Sheriff of Worcestershire and Chamberlain of the Exchequer, only son and heir, by 2nd wife, was born 22 March 1424/5 at Hanley Castle, and baptised 24 or 27 March, Henry, Cardinal Beaufort, being a sponsor; apparently styled LORD LE DESPENSER till 1439; succeeded his mother de jure as LORD BURGHERSH, 27 December 1439; and was present in Council, 28 November 1441 and 6 July 1443. In consideration of his father's services he was created, 2 April 1444, PREMIER EARL, with the same precedence, as Earls, for his heirs male, presumably of his body. Constable and Steward of Tutbury, Master Forester of Needwood and Duffield Frith, and Steward and Master of the Game in High Peak, all in the Duchy of Lancaster, 23 October 1444. He was further created, 5 April 1445, DUKE OF WARWICK, with remainder to the heirs male of his body, and with precedence next after the Duke of Norfolk and before that of the Duke of Buckingham. Keeper of West Bere Forest, Hants.

      He married, in 1434, Cecily, 2nd daughter of Richard (NEVILLE), EARL OF SALISBURY, by Alice, suo jure COUNTESS OF SALISBURY, daughter and heir of Thomas (MONTAGU), 4th EARL OF SALISBURY. He died s.p.m. 11 June 1446 at his birthplace, Hanley Castle, and was buried in Tewkesbury Abbey afsd., aged 21 when the Dukedom of Warwick became extinct, as also did the titles of Premier Earl and Count of Aumale. His widow married (licence 3 April 1449), as his 1st wife, John (TIPTOFT), 1st EARL OF WORCESTER, who died, being beheaded, 18 October 1470, She, who was Sheriff of Worcestershire from 5 June 1449, died 28 July 1450 and was buried 31 July in the Lady Chapel of Tewkesbury Abbey.
